A Letter from the CEO

At DataServ, we have purposefully created an environment that respects the individual – it’s a combination of all the elements that Kathi, our CFO and Partner, and I believe foster an environment we would like to work in personally. Kathi experienced a true partnership during her decade-long tenure at Deloitte, a company where anyone can advance to the Partner level based upon the merits of their own efforts, creativity and leadership ability. 

The concepts I have implemented at DataServ were borne out of frustration I felt with always being the new kid and being told what would not work and that this is how “it’s always been” even though I always had new and better ideas. Therefore, we built DataServ to allow individuals to contribute to their highest potential and have more independence to influence the future of the company. Sometimes this can be confusing for our team members because it can seem like a lack of direction. 

Our management style is intentionally less hierarchical – shared responsibility is a key to our growth and success. It’s a two-way street, though, as our team members must contribute and actively participate to allow this model to succeed, but when they enjoy doing this and take advantage of the opportunity to make a positive impact, there are numerous benefits for themselves, the company as a whole, and our clients.

In 1994, we invented SaaS for FinTech document and process automation – this was literally five years before the widespread availability of commercial high-speed Internet, and over a decade before terms like “SaaS” and “FinTech” even existed – so we developed a solution and kept moving forward. What can I expect in the hiring process?

DataServ is seeking outstanding employees who enjoy challenging, creative, fun work. As such, we employ a number of steps in our hiring process to ensure that the proper individual is selected for each position. Our process will typically include a phone screen, extensive in-person interviews, pre-employment testing, a meeting with future co-workers and, finally, drug testing and background checks.

What is SaaS?

The real value of the cloud-based SaaS model is how our interests and focus are naturally aligned with the economic and business goals of our clients – if clients are not getting value, they can stop paying and turn it off.
